Welche Fotoausrüstung?
What Photo Equipment?

material

  • Sony FE 35mm f/2,8 ZA Zeiss Sonnar T*
  • Sony FE 24–70mm f/4 ZA OSS Zeiss Vario-Tessar T*
  • Minolta 70-200mm f/2.8 APO G
  • Sony SAL DT 11-18mm F/4.5-5.6

On travels I pack my photo equipment the way I pack everything: less is more. 2 light cameras, a choice of lenses and a few accessories.

I had a long thought about the ideal backpack solution. There will probably never be a perfect photo backpack! My choice was therefore a normal backpack, which I modified into a photo backpack. A Dakine Apollo in a modest grey. It was important to me that there is a side-access to the laptop case, which I can now also use as side-access to my cam. I can place a photo-inlay inside that protects the photo equipment but gives me easy access at the same time. Still there is more than enough room left for everyday use (and it can be taken into the flight cabin).

If I ever need much more space in my backpack I simply take out the inlay and can use the full 30 litres. The apollo is also the perfect solution for my tripod, which can be carried in one of the side-pockets and tightened with the straps on the upper side. This was an important point, as I will certainly take this tripod on most hikes. For evenings and nights out I can take a small side bag, which can by the way also be put in the backpack instead of an inlay…

Well, I think I’ve got everything by now… For those who are interested there’s a full list of material above (German section) and I will certainly post my experiences in this blog.
